Nîmes wine merchants’ favorites
Rosé is also a matter of falling in love with a temperament, a nuance or a meeting with a winemaker. Three Nîmes wine merchants played the wine list game:
Alain Bosc – Les Plaisirs de la Table
“My favorite of the year is Lily Rose, the rosé from Mas Mellet. It is a young estate which has a real identity and whose wines have style. Suave and delicate, this rosé, made from cinsault and grenache noir, is perfect for summer meals. Just thinking about it, its nose of sandalwood and pink pepper makes me want grilled red mullet fillets!”

Justine Picon – Art et Vin
“This year, I really fell for the Pastel vintage from Château de Valcombe and its elegant pale pink color. It is a very fresh wine which harmoniously interweaves fruity notes with beautiful variations on citrus fruits, lemon and pink grapefruit in particular. To drink with a light but tasty salad with small pieces of candied gizzards.”

Christin Mellet – Histoire de Vin
“For this summer, I choose the rosé from Domaine Notre-Dame, which is located in the city of Bellegarde. This is a fresh wine as it should be, which goes well with spicy preparations and simple delicacies. I would happily serve it in the evening with a plancha of onion merguez.”
