Château Bolchet in Costières de Nîmes
Château Bolchet

Château Bolchet, a family property since 1900, is entering a new era with the fifth generation who took over the estate in 1996.

Located in Caissargues, on the heights overlooking Nîmes, the estate covers 43 hectares. With agricultural training and over twenty years of winemaking experience, the winegrowers take particular care of the vineyard composed of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. These grape varieties, aged on average twenty years for the Syrahs, 25 years for the Grenaches, and thirty years for the Carignans, are blended to produce Costières de Nîmes. In addition, 1.5 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon are dedicated to the production of Vin de Pays d'Oc, a single grape variety, on this terroir of rolled pebbles characteristic of the Rhone Valley. This soil helps retain the heat of the day and release it at night, thus promoting good ripening of the berries.

Château Bolchet wines, regularly mentioned in the Hachette and Gilbert & Gaillard guides, and awarded at national competitions, are available in AOC Costières de Nîmes red d'Amaury, rouge de Pierrick, Cuvée Prestige, as well as Rosé de Léonore and Vin de Pays d'Oc. These wines are appreciated for their varied profiles: fruity and full-bodied, with delicate aromas and melted tannins. The winemakers insist on the importance of the quality of the grapes to produce good wines, stating that the conviviality and unforgettable flavors of their wines are the result. Passionate about horse riding, they sell their production directly at the cellar, as well as at wine merchants, in traditional stores and CHR. Currently, around 15% of the production is exported, mainly to Belgium and Japan.
